Pal’s Takeaway in the Mission is celebrating their second anniversary as a pop-up sandwich shop with three guest chefs (instead of the usual one). Carlo Espinas from Ragazza and Gialina has a spice-rub chicken breast with Calabrian chile spread and sugar snap pea slaw. Comstock's Carlos Espinas designed a pork belly combo with pickled ginger, soy yuzo mayo, and arugula. And Bruno’s Ryan Ostler’s doing a slow-smoked brisket on a Wise Sons Deli bialys with horseradish sour cream and pickled spring shallot. 2751 24th St.

Also, at 5:30pm, Jonathan Waxman will be at A16 to sign copies of his book Italian, My Way with diners. Tickets are $115, and you can expect four-courses from chef Waxman’s new cookbook, prepared by A16 executive chef David Taylor, wine pairings, and a copy of the book. 355 Chestnut St.
