Interface Gallery Opens
To celebrate the opening of community-driven gallery Interface, check out the self-titled inaugural exhibit that explores the term through visitor interaction with interdisciplinary installations. Afterwards, catch free live music and local nibbles in historic Temescal Alley in celebration of September's First Friday.

"Binh Danh: Yosemite"
Binh Danh captures Yosemite in a new light, photographing the natural wonder in one-of-a-kind "in-camera" daguerreotypes. Danh makes use of one of the oldest forms of photography to create prints that are as unique as the landscape itself.

"Stellar Orbits"
Frey Norris gallery presents an exploration of the spiritual, the supernatural, and the surreal with the opening of three simultaneous exhibits. Take in two solo shows—the first by local Israeli born artist Dana Harel, and the second by Canadian artist Howie Tsui—as well as a Surrealist exhibition titled "Stellar Orbits: Lovers and Intellectuals Among Surrealists and Their Peers."

Fashion's Night Out
Start the night right at Neiman Marcus and have a look at the latest from Academy of Art University designers. Afterwards, stroll over to Westfield San Francisco Centre for raffles and special goodies from the likes of BCBGMAXARIA and Kate Spade. A VIP ticket will grant you access to hors d'oeuvres and cocktails from The Restaurant Collection Under the Dome, with proceeds benefiting ArtPoint, an organization that sponsors local fine arts museums.

Academy of Art University at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week
Twenty Academy of Art University graduates will prove San Francisco is a fashion force to be reckoned with when they show at the Spring 2013 New York Fashion Week. A total of eight women's wear collections will grace the catwalk, one of which is a multi-designer collaboration with UBIFRANCE, made entirely of French fabrics. Nab a front row seat without traveling to NYC by tuning into the livestream hosted by the AAU.

SF Giants Bill Graham Tribute Night
The only thing better than purchasing a Giants ticket is knowing the money is going to a good cause. Fans can get that satisfaction when they attend the Giants v. Dodgers game, which also serves as the second annual Bill Graham Tribute Night. A portion of the proceeds will go to the Bill Graham Memorial Foundation, which offers grants in music, arts, and education, while also supporting community development.

Dan Hoyle's The Real Americans
With another election season comes the return of Dan Hoyle's popular politically-themed show The Real Americans. The play brings together the opposite worlds of radical liberals and staunch conservatives, as inspired by Hoyle's 100-day travels through the small towns of middle America. The San Francisco native puts a journalistic spin on classic theater in this 90-minute, song-speckled performance.

Gotye
Fans of the summer anthem "Somebody That I Used To Know" are in for a treat when Wally De Backer, better known by his stage name of Gotye, comes to UC Berkeley's Greek Theatre. Special guests will include art-pop band Chairlift (of iPod nano commercial fame), and fellow Australian vocalist Jonti.

Opera
SF Opera in the Park & Ballpark
Opera in the Park will bring the stars of the Opera's 90th season to Golden Gate Park to perform arias and fan favorites. No tickets are required, so stop by to get a taste of the Opera, gratis. Can't make it Sept. 9? Head to AT&T Park on Sept. 15 to see a free simulcast of Verdi's "Rigoletto," the opening piece of the season.
