Philip Glass at 75
Celebrate the famous composer with two screenings accompanied by music from the Philip Glass Ensemble. On Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, watch Jean Cocteau's La Belle ed la Bête, in which Glass received critical acclaim for his film score. Then on Sunday, you'll see Koyaanisqatsi, an iconic film that changed the face of music and film when it premiered 30 years ago.

Local performing arts ensemble Word for Word, in collaboration with City Arts & Lectures, takes on Woody Allen with a presentation of this short story about an unhappily married professor who gets transported in time to the plot of Flaubert's Madame Bovary.

Anniversary
Golden Gate Bridge Festivities
This weekend marks the official 75th anniversary of the Golden Gate Bridge, and everyone in and around the city is doing something to celebrate. From For-Site's "International Orange" exhibit and Presidio film screenings to special Cavallo Point packages, a Mickey Hart concert on Exploratorium's "Sonified" GG Bridge model, and screenings at the Walt Disney Museum. Check out the official site for a full list of festivities.

"Earthquake"
Cal Academy's latest exhibit and planetarium show will entertain visitors and seasoned Bay Area folk alike. Look for the shake table and the all-digital recreation of the great 1906 quake. Get tix to the premiere party on Friday, and be the first to see the show. Or, there's a nightlife event around the exhibit on 5/31 featuring experts from the US Geological Survey and SPUR (San Francisco Planning and Urban Research Association) and music from Weekend and Violens.
