Film Noir Foundation founder and president Eddie Muller hosts Thomas Jane (HBO's Hung) for a special one-night-only screening of the actor’s overlooked 2009 directorial feature debut, the phantasmagorical road thrillerDark Country, tonight at the Castro Theatre. Tickets are available via Ticketweb.
Presented at long last in its original, entirely digital 3-D format, which the onetime Punisher created with legendary "King of 3-D comics" Ray Zone, Country stars Jane and Lauren German (Hostel: Part II) as a hard-partying couple who exchange vows in a drunken haze. Their subsequent trek to Los Angeles, through a desert rife with surreal booby traps, nightmarish detours and a bloodied bogeyman, pays loving homage to classic TV fantasies The Twilight Zone and The Outer Limits.
Following the screening, Muller will conduct an on-stage interview with Jane that will be included as a special feature on the forthcoming 3-D re-release of Dark Country on DVD. The festivities begin at 7:30 p.m. For more information, click here.
