On the heels of Crossroads’ opening of higher end consignment shop Fillmore & 5th, comes Threadflip, an online equivalent.

If you’d rather peruse, and sell, gently worn pieces online, Threadflip has it right. There’s also the benefit of a larger audience, so while local consignment shops can be convenient, not everyone can see what goods you have to offer.

It’s Pinterest meets eBay, and the social shopping aspect lets you Heart favorite items and follow preferred sellers. Threadflip launched featuring picks from leading ladies like Tennessee Thomas, the drummer for The Like, and fashion assistant and street style star, Preetma Singh. You can peruse items from their actual closets and get styling tips – some items are so cute you wonder why they’d want to get rid of them but one woman’s trash is another’s treasure right?

The White Glove Service is what you would guess: If you don’t have the time or desire to create your own closet-within-shop, you can send your items to Threadflip and the stylists will take it over, from the photos to the pricing to the merchandising, and you can watch your items go live.

When an item is purchased, or “flipped,” the seller receives a prepaid shipping care package and wrapping materials making it quick and easy to send off your item to its new home.

Across all categories of clothes, shoes, bags, jewelry and accessories, it’s a smorgasbord of designers high and low. A few favorites like Zara, BCBG, Theory, Kelly Wearstler, Michael Kors and Alexander Wang caught my eye – not to mention oodles of unique vintage finds.

Now there’s no excuse to not spring clean out your closet…and turn a profit.
