Glass Act Oakland's legendary The Crucible, known for its awesome metal working classes, hosts a celebration this weekend of the 50th anniversary of California's Studio Glass movement, including demos and lectures by prominent California artists as well as a stunning display of piece representing various trends within the movement.
Berkeley Crush Festival No need to drive all the way to Napa to taste this year's harvest. Berkeley's annual Crush Festival pairs tastings from 25 local wineries with food from 25 local restaurants. The $50 ticket gets you way more than you could possibly drink and eat, plus a souvenir wine glass to take home.
Peralta Junction's Mouse Trap Peralta Junction is one of those cool artsy Oakland projects that's worth checking out any weekend--a pop-up art space, it features revolving projects, plus food trucks and live music. This weekend should be particularly great, though, as the Junction debuts its life-size game of MouseTrap.
