It's one of those ho-hum weekends in February: Weather's okay but not great, it's not a three-day weekend, and Beer Week hasn't started yet. But fear not, we still found plenty of fun for you in the East Bay. Following are our three favorite reasons to hop over the bridge this weekend.
Lungomare at Jack London–Holy crap y'all, two of our favorite Oakland hangouts–Chop Bar and Grand Tavern–got together and had a hot Italian baby called Lungomare. Taking over the home of the former Miss Pearl's Jam House in Jack London Square, the restaurant opened this week and features northern Italian fare, awesome cocktails, and two heated outdoor patios.
Birding Walk in the Berkeley Botanical Garden–Berkeley's birds are more active in winter...who knew? Discover more random bird trivia and enjoy some fresh air at Berkeley's botanical garden this Saturday.
Ira Glass at Zellerbach–Yes, for some seeing Ira Glass in person ruins the mystique of This American Life, but c'mon the guy is a legendary storyteller, plus seeing a show at Zellerbach is something every East Bay visitor (or dweller) should do at least once.
