The sun is finally out—and just in time, because this weekend is jam-packed with great events that you’re going to want to ride your bike to. Here are a few reasons to hop on your bike, get back on the saddle, and pedal around San Francisco this weekend.
San Francisco Street Food Festival—If you rode your bike to Outside Lands, you know that two wheels are your best way to get to big San Francisco events. Avoid the hassle of parking and overcrowded transit, and ride your bike! This Saturday is the annual Street Food Festival in the Mission. Free bike valet, so you can have two hands to hold that messy falafel. Saturday, 11 am- 7 pm, Mission District
Bike Scavenger Hunt—Pedal on over to Market Street Cycles on Saturday for the start of a city bike scavenger hunt. You’ll ride in teams to various shops around the city, collecting clues and dropping off posters for Tour de Fat, the big bike party happening on September 21. Enjoy the sunny day from your saddle, and get free prizes and beer tokens for Tour de Fat. Saturday, 1-4 pm, Market Street Cycles
Sunday Streets in the Tenderloin—Want to enjoy the Tenderloin without worrying about the speeding cars rushing down the one-way streets? Bike on over to Sunday Streets this weekend and relish in the TL’s open streets space. Bring your little ones, too, and let the SF Bicycle Coalition teach them to bike in their Freedom From Training Wheels class. Sunday, 11 am- 4 pm, Tenderloin
