Wedding Inspiration: A cable car, Bob's Donuts, and bridge views made a quintessential SF bash on Treasure Island

Margaux Joson and Anthony Bushong met during their sophomore year in high school, and dated on and off for 10 years before Bushong finally proposed.

It was worth the wait.

The two both grew up in San Francisco and wanted their wedding day to pay homage to their home, choosing The Winery on Treasure Island as their venue: "We loved it immediately because of its waterfront location, with views of both the Bay Bridge and the San Francisco skyline, and its vintage, laid back atmosphere," explains Joson.

The Winery also included vintage-inspired furniture in their venue package, which informed their decor details. The space was decked out with antique mirrors, tea plates, and eucalyptus. Joson also DIYed a number of elements including the save-the-dates and invitations.

"We had a fluid theme of just highlighting the classy romance of our city, which is why having a cable car onsite was a must for us." One of her favorite memories is riding the cable car up California Street with Bushong while watching the sun set. They wanted to share this quintessential San Francisco experience with their loved ones, so they rented one for the big day. Additionally, Bushong rented a white BMW convertible with red leather interior as a surprise. "I remember wishing I hadn't just gotten my hair done so we could drive with the top down," she says.

All about nostalgia, the lovebirds even took their wedding party to 7-Eleven to seal the deal with Slurpees, just as they had when they first became "official" back in high school. Then, they said "I do" under a eucalyptus arch framing the Bay Bridge.

Inside, the reception exuded charming elegance with wine barrels all around, an abundance of foliage and florals, and all of the vintage touches. Adding to the ambiance were disposable cameras at each table. "We're pretty excited for these because we plan to look through each table's (one camera per year) developed photos every year when we celebrate our anniversary."

Topping it off was a dessert table teeming with tiered trays of macarons and cookies with their initials and date surrounding a three-layer cake, and of course, multiple towers of Bob's Donuts.
