"We wanted to get married in a place that represented us as a couple," says Jessica. "We chose Cornerstone Sonoma because it's fun, different, and a bit kooky—it's not too serious, and neither are we." The bride's bouquet showcased the event's color palette. "I'm drawn to muted, dusky colors," she says. "We chose soft green, pink, orange, and gray-blue." Jessica's vows contained a line from Moulin Rouge, a movie both she and Tim love: "Come what may, I will love you until my dying day."
A heart-shaped fan served as the wedding program and featured the couple's anime alter egos. White flowers in hanging glass globes added a modern touch to the altar. “I loved my Vivienne Westwood shoes because they were a little different," Jessica says of her shoes displaying his-and-hers rings. The invitations were printed on a letterpress with a muted silver ink and graphic flourishes. The bride wore a Junko Yoshioka dress she chose for its clean, simple lines and comfortable fit. "As I came down the aisle with my father, I couldn't believe how long the walk was and how far away everyone seemed," Jessica says. "I was thinking how surreal it was that the moment was finally here—all while I was trying not to trip."
The couple got married outside on a carpet of flower petals and between two tree-like arrangements. "We wanted a Wine Country wedding, but we didn't want to go too rustic," says Jessica. The couple upped the modern sophistication ante with succulents, tillandsias, and mini terrariums in the floral mix. "I'm just not into all girly flowers," says the bride. In the tented reception, the couple listened to one of many toasts made in their honor. The offbeat art installations at Cornerstone Sonoma offered unique photo opportunities. For example, the couple posed in a field with dozens of bright pink, plastic daisy pinwheels.
“The meal was one of the most important parts of the wedding," says Jessica. Guests dined on Wine Country fare in a circular tent. The banana, almond, and lemon tiered wedding cake was adorned with fondant petals done in the colors of the wedding. The couple's first dance was to Iron and Wine's "Flightless Bird American Mouth." Props in the photo booth allowed guests to get their 'stache on.
