The opening reception for One or Two Things I Know About Her, a group exhibition about women personified though illustrations and photography by various San Francisco artists, debuts at RGB shop+gallery. Dance

Act quickly to catch SF Ballet’s double dose of programs. P2's Chroma is a contemporary piece with a live soundtrack straight out of James Bond. The monochromatic tones allow full focus on the actual dancing, which often moves with a jagged, awkward grace. The second dance, Beaux, is executed by an all male cast flanked by hot pink camouflage (designed by Isaac Mizrahi). The finale, Number Nine, is a Lifesaver roll of rich colors skating across the stage. The dancer’s coordination in the last moments is startlingly stunning. P3 begins with Trio, a lush composition of a lady pulled between two men. Or, is it her conflict of innocence vs. sin? However you interpret it, she is dancing with the devil while trying to maintain purity. Francesca da Rimini takes place in a dark and dramatic underworld where classical fuses with modern dance in an intense, futuristic fable. P3 wraps up with the colorful and playful Le Carnaval des Animaux, which children will especially enjoy. Program 2 closes with two performances on Saturday. Classical

Rinaldo Alessandrini leads the SF Symphony with soloist Olivier Cavé on the piano. They’ll be performing Haydn’s Symphony No. 104, London, Mozart’s Piano Concerto No. 25 (featuring Cavé) and Mozart’s Symphony No. 39. You can paint on the walls or swing a hammer to help knock them down as St. Anthony’s hosts a “Fond Farewell” to its original dining room, which has been serving warm meals to those in need for over 70 years. Saturday, Feb. 25, 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. 45 Jones St @ Golden Gate.

Stage

After their mother’s death, twins Janine and Simon are given two letters with clues about their family’s mysterious past. They head to the Middle East in search of the father and brother they never knew they had. Scorched portrays a chaotic mystery about the violent history of a broken family. A.C.T.
