Best in Show fans, rejoice.  The annual World's Ugliest Dog Contest goes down next week at the Sonoma-Marin Fair in Peteluma, and this year's contestants are definitely uggggly.  So ugly that they're almost cute. (Actually, that's a lie, they're really freaking ugly). Head to the official site to vote one of these unfortunate souls to the position of World's Ugliest.  So far, Squiggy is in the lead.  Fair enough, but take a gander at Opie and Princess Chelsea Nicole and let us know what you think about that.  Right.

But alas, the ugly crown is quite a distinction, and past winners have gone on to be role models for ugliness everywhere. Take Elwood, 2007's Ugliest, who has used his celebrity status to remind people that it's okay to be different.  He visits children in hospitals and schools where he reads (with the help of his human lady friend) his book, "Everyone Loves Elwood."  Naturally, it's about discovering inner beauty.
